The American Association of Orthodontists recommends all children get a check up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7. Some patients may benefit from early orthodontic intervention that consists of capitalizing on growth patterns to eliminate crowding or manage jaw issues.

It is Dr. Trommeter’s opinion that very few patients need early intervention, and it is often over-diagnosed. He feels that the majority of his patients can be treated most efficiently and effectively with one phase of orthodontic treatment completed more toward the adolescent or teenage years.

Initial examinations at our office are complimentary, and Dr. Trommeter is happy to monitor your child’s oral development at no cost to you until they are ready for full orthodontic treatment.

While many dentists offer options for orthodontic treatment, your general dentist can only offer limited options that may not suit your child’s needs. It is best to entrust your child’s smile to an expert like Dr. Trommeter who is capable of offering a full range of orthodontic treatments that focus on tooth alignment and jaw function.

Give our office a call today to learn more about what we offer and schedule your child’s next appointment.

Although Dr. Trommeter takes a conservative approach to early orthodontics, generally about 20% of kids will benefit from Phase I treatment. If Dr. Trommeter determines your son or daughter does not need early treatment he will recommend an observation appointment every six months to keep an eye on development. All of these appointments are complimentary and will help determine the optimum time for your child to complete orthodontics. Contact us today to learn more or schedule an appointment.
