Trommeter Orthodontics

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How can we help you?

Orthodontic treatment is an investment in your oral health and your overall well being. You may have questions about your treatment – and you should!

At Trommeter Orthodontics, we’re here to answer your questions and you should always feel free to call us. We have also complied a list of the questions we hear most often.

Many insurance plans include an orthodontic benefit. This is typically a lifetime maximum to be used toward orthodontic treatment; however, deductibles or age restrictions may apply. With your permission, we're happy to research your insurance benefit prior to your consultation with Dr. Trommeter so we can review it with you during the financial portion of our meeting.

Orthodontic benefits can be used towards any form of orthodontic treatment including Invisalign. If your dental insurance includes orthodontic benefits, you can contact your insurance company or your employer’s HR department to learn more about your orthodontic coverage.

We never want cost to deter our patients from achieving the healthy and beautiful smile they deserve in the manner that is right for them, whether that is traditional braces or Invisalign. For this reason, we offer interest free payment plans that will help fit orthodontic treatment into almost any budget. Our treatment coordinator will review the cost of your treatment and your payment options with you after your treatment has been diagnosed.

Feel free to contact our office with any questions you may have about your treatment or financial options.

Of course! There are so many options available for adults right now. Dr. Trommeter is Stapleton’s top rated, premier Invisalign provider. Adult patients that chose to go the traditional route are surprised to find that the modern braces that Dr. Trommeter uses are smaller in scale and more discreet than ever. We also offer clear ceramic brackets that discreetly hide the appearance of brackets. Contact our office today to learn more about your options.

Patients with traditional braces generally require retie appointments every six weeks. In between your appointments, it is important to keep your teeth clean with consistent brushing and flossing with the floss threader. Dr. Trommeter will be monitoring your oral health and hygiene.

With Invisalign, the adjustments are made at home when you progress from one aligner to the next, allowing scheduled office visits to extend to 8-12 weeks.

Dr. Trommeter accepts all dental plans and is in network with Delta Dental, Guardian, MetLife, Cigna, Aetna, as well as many others. We also accept Medicaid.

In addition to working with insurance benefits, we also offer convenient monthly payment plans that will help fit orthodontic treatment comfortably into your budget. We're happy to discuss your financial options with you during your consultation.

An orthodontist is first a dentist. After completing four years of dental school, orthodontic specialists will then complete an additional two to three year accredited residency program focusing exclusively on not only aligning the teeth, but also bite correction and function. An orthodontist has the expertise to offer a full range of treatment.

While a general dentist may offer one or two options for aligning teeth, this is not their specialty, and they may not be able to accommodate the patient’s needs in order to achieve the best results. A general dentist is trained to handle all aspects of dentistry, and may not be able to give your case the focus it deserves.

An orthodontist will select the correct treatment based on all available options and what will best suit the patient’s individual goals for their smile and lifestyle. An orthodontist also has knowledge of new and emerging treatments and technologies that you won’t find at your dentist’s office.

Orthodontists are better equipped to handle more complex cases, especially when bite and function are an issue. They can also best handle cases where early intervention might benefit a child in order to capitalize on growth patterns.

Absolutely! Invisalign Teen is a great option for busy teens who are concerned about the appearance of braces. Dr. Trommeter is Stapleton’s top rated, premier Invisalign provider, and he can help determine if Invisalign will be effective for your teen. Contact our office today to schedule a consultation.

Invisalign is an effective treatment for adults and teens who would like to straighten their teeth with discretion. Most Invisalign cases can be completed very efficiently, typically in 9 to 15 months. Invisalign also requires fewer visits with Dr. Trommeter as you'll be able to change your aligners at home every two weeks. Contact Trommeter Orthodontics to learn more about how Invisalign could benefit you.

Modern Braces

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends all children get a check up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7. Some patients may benefit from early orthodontic intervention that consists of capitalizing on growth patterns to eliminate crowding or manage jaw issues.

It is Dr. Trommeter’s opinion that very few patients need early intervention, and it is often over-diagnosed. He feels that the majority of his patients can be treated most efficiently and effectively with one phase of orthodontic treatment completed more toward the adolescent or teenage years.

Initial examinations at our office are complimentary, and Dr. Trommeter is happy to monitor your child’s oral development at no cost to you until they are ready for full orthodontic treatment.

While many dentists offer options for orthodontic treatment, your general dentist can only offer limited options that may not suit your child’s needs. It is best to entrust your child’s smile to an expert like Dr. Trommeter who is capable of offering a full range of orthodontic treatments that focus on tooth alignment and jaw function.

Give our office a call today to learn more about what we offer and schedule your child’s next appointment.

Although Dr. Trommeter takes a conservative approach to early orthodontics, generally about 20% of kids will benefit from Phase I treatment. If Dr. Trommeter determines your son or daughter does not need early treatment he will recommend an observation appointment every six months to keep an eye on development. All of these appointments are complimentary and will help determine the optimum time for your child to complete orthodontics. Contact us today to learn more or schedule an appointment.
