Trommeter Orthodontics

Infection Prevention

Our focus remains on the health of our patients and staff during this continued pandemic. Trommeter Orthodontics has always been and will continue to be a safe environment for you and your family. During the mandated statewide dental closure, the office was professionally cleaned including chairs, carpet, tile, and benches. Please see the listed recommendations below to ensure the health and safety of all:

  • Please do not come to the office if your immediate family is experiencing fever or cough, or even mild flu like symptoms. We will gladly accommodate you with a new appointment.
  • A staff member will screen all patients with a COVID symptom questionnaire and forehead temperature checks. Patients will be reappointed if they have a temperature of over 99.5. We are doing the same screening for employees at the beginning of every clinic day.
  • We are closing off our reception area to non-essential family members. We respectfully request that you do not bring friends or relatives to your family member's orthodontic appointment. When parents are accompanying children, we ask that only one parent attend with your child. Should an accompanying parent feel comfortable waiting in their car during their child’s visit, we would encourage you to do so in order to limit the number of people in our reception area. Should we need the parent, we will call or text.
  • Please do not come more than 5 minutes early to an appointment.
  • Cloth masks are required in the reception area for both parents AND patients. If you do not have a mask, we can provide a surgical mask while supplies last, but will charge a $2 fee.
  • Patients are no longer permitted to brush their teeth in the office. The tooth brushing station will be used exclusively for hand-washing at the start of every appointment. Patients will be asked to rinse with diluted hydrogen peroxide at the start of the appointment to reduce the number of potential pathogens in the oral cavity.
  • In addition to our standard levels of hospital-grade sterilization and disinfection after every patient visit, our team is disinfecting common areas throughout the day.
  • We have discontinued our beverage station and removed reading materials in order to minimize congregation and reduce communal contact surfaces.
  • You will notice a change in the personal protective equipment (PPE) being worn by staff during certain appointments.

Welcome back to Trommeter Orthodontics! We have missed our patients and look forward to serving you again in the near future. Our office will resume operations on Monday, May 11. Until then we will have phone coverage from 8:00-11:00am M-F. In an effort to minimize the disruption in our patient’s care, we are extending our normal clinic hours to include Wednesday mornings and Fridays. These additional hours are currently planned for the month of May for the time being. We are doing our best to accommodate a large number of patients while being mindful of social distancing requirements. We are asking that patients call to reschedule their missed appointments.
